Exams are an important part of diagnosing a variety of different oral health issues and planning the most effective treatments possible. However, there are many different components in your mouth. While many of these components are visible, there are still many more that are hidden from view. To determine the exact cause of your oral health issues, and to determine the best treatments possible, we need to see these hidden components. What are Digital X-Rays?
X-rays have been used for many years. Traditionally, these images have been taken using radiation. After taking the necessary images, they then needed to be developed. This was done in a separate dark room and could take some time to complete. Additionally, many patients today express concerns over the use of radiation to capture dental images.
Today, we use digital X-rays to take necessary images of your mouth. Digital X-rays use electronic technology. We position an electronic sensor, which is attached to a computer, into your mouth. We then click a button on the computer to capture your images. Once taken, the images display almost immediately on the computer monitor. There is no need to develop images or leave the room at all.
What are the Benefits of Digital X-Rays?
There are several significant benefits of digital X-rays over traditional X-ray technology.
Digital X-rays not only help us to more accurately diagnose your oral health issues, but they also enable us to plan the most effective treatments possible. For more information, do not hesitate to call Rekos & Border Oral Surgery at (614) 764-9455 today.
